The Steps of Chocolate Making
Step one- Harvesting the cacao pod
*scratch skin to determine if it's ripe.
Step two- Cut open the pod and scrape off the beans
Step three- Ferment (2 weeks)
MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE PROCESS
Step four- Sun dry (4-5 days) keep rotating to dry evenly and avoid mold.
Step five- Roasting
Step six- Crack open beans to separate the bean from it's shell.
Step seven- Winnow
Step eight- Refine and Conch/melanging to form the liqour.
+Sugar, cocoa butter, and vanilla
Step nine- tempering, creates either a shiny chocolate or not.

Value added is when you take a product you have grown, say cacao and then take it to a next level, making it worth a lot more money, for example turning it into high quality chocolate.
