What is a guild?
A guild is a selection of plants that work together to meet their needs. It's like they have a mutualism kind of relationship wherein they benefit each other for the better.
•An example is the 3 sisters garden. Basically, the three plants help each other grow as they coexist. The corn acts like a pole so the pole beans can climb it while the squash grows at the bottom to provide beneficial necessities for all of them•

Physical Properties include texture while Chemical Properties include nutrients. The different types of soil are clay, sand, and silk. Clay is much more intact compared to sand.
What is a Food forest?
A Food forest consists of 7 layers, a couple of them are the canopy layer and the understory. It has also been a gardening practice for many years because in that way, plants can do the work.

Guild design:
Our guild design consists of tomatoes(T), chives (c), beets (b), lettuce (l), and marigolds (m). Since tomatoes require full sun, we decided to plant them in the middle. We placed lettuce around the tomatoes because they need partial shade. In the corners, we decided that it would be best to locate the chives there due to the fact that they need full sun. Beets were placed next to chives and marigolds. Marigolds will act as a guard to the plants. They attract pollinators as well which help a lot. This design is effective because we can build the plants that we will harvest earlier around the tomatoes which we will harvest later in 17 weeks. As the tomatoes grow within those weeks, we can plant then harvest then plant more beets, lettuce, and chives. With this design, we can have two batches of the said vegetables below.
