FACTS ABOUT CACAO
1. Cacao really does not like wind, so in order to grow cacao in optimum conditions, you should create natural wind breaks by planting other plants, like the Koa trees we saw today, around your cacao.
2. Cacao does not want full sun light, so it is recommended to create or use existing natural shade edges, like mountains or trees, to limit the amount of sun the cacao receives.
3. Cacao takes a few years to mature and be ready for harvesting, so it would be smart to interplant nitrogen, potasium, and phosphorus fixers that will continuously enrich the soil, and if possible, plants that I will either give you a quicker profit turnover or long term turnover, like the Koa trees.
