The Improved generation
Plant breeders would often get genetics from a good parent plant and pollinate in this case- the cacao flower to create a new, good quality generation. It takes 4 years to see the final result. But once a small cacao pod is appearing you could check if the characteristics fits the expectation.
Propagation: The act of multiplying identical plants.
"Cuttings" is the process of getting a part of the plant and cutting it to regrow. If it is successful, you can be able to share it with someone and they will grow the same plant.
PROS: Produce identical plants.
CONS: The plant wouldn't have a stable root so if it were in windy conditions, it would be blown away.

DNA
Basically, the beginning process of extracting the DNA is mashing up the material who's DNA we desire to break down the cell walls (assuming it's a plant), adding other substances that will expose the nucleotides/base pairs of the DNA, and removing the DNA to use for gel electrophoresis, which allows us to test for certain genetic traits in samples.

Highlights of Today:
-Extracting the DNA of a Papaya and Cacao plant.
-Going out into the field and learning about Cacao pollination.
-Improving crops by taking a desired plant with the desired characteristics and transferring to a plant we would want to improve.
